Dr Stroma Macfarlane

I am a Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist and did my specialist training in the Wessex region having worked as a consultant psychiatrist in the NHS for seven years based in Portsmouth at Solent NHS Trust working across community and acute services at varying points. For the last three years up until 2016 I was the Clinical Director for the Adult Mental Health and Substance Misuse services for the Trust.

I left the NHS in May 2016 and began working in full time private practice as a visiting Consultant at the Priory.

I now have a busy practice in Surrey and am a Visiting Consultant at Priory Woking and see patients in Guildford. I am the Addictions Lead Consultant at the Priory Hospital Woking.

I have over 20 years’ experience working with adults with a wide variety of mental illness including Mood disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Substance Use disorders and Women’s Mental Health problems.

I was born and raised in Scotland where I studied medicine at Glasgow University, but have lived in the south of England for over 20 years and despite what my husband would say I think I have a pretty good grasp of the English language. I even support the England Rugby Team (providing they aren’t thrashing Scotland again at the time).

Caroline Anderson

Hi, I am Caroline, PA to Dr. Macfarlane and I have worked with her since 2018, but I have been in this role since 2012 with her predecessor, Dr. Drever.

I love the role, especially helping you to arrange the help and expertise you need at a difficult time. I hope you will find me warm and friendly, as well as helpful and efficient as I guide you through our processes.

I am a trusted member of the team and bring a range of experience acquired in various senior positions in healthcare, travel and other service industries. I have had numerous commendations from patients over the years and one even said “It sounds as if Caroline is smiling on the phone!”.
